synopsis
In the heart of Northern Vietnam, a Hmong village lies cradled by nature, an ancient and sacred tree falls, its crimson resin bleeding into the earth, a silent omen of change. As the village mourns, Dua, a mother shattered by the loss of her daughter, drifts between the echoes of her wombsongs and the haunting call of a dying forest. Through fragmented memories and intimate moments of connection, Womb Song unfolds as a lyrical meditation on grief and renewal, weaving a tapestry where the lives of a mother, a tree, and a child blur into one eternal cycle. The boundaries of the tangible and the spiritual dissolve, as the story flows between the ancient and the present, the lost and the enduring.
With every heartbeat of the earth, it asks: How do we honor what is lost? and how do their whispers guide us back to ourselves?
